GAmbellara wine

Gambellara.wine is the meeting point between you, the producers, and the winemaking tradition of Gambellara. A project designed to enhance local excellence and bring the authenticity of its wines beyond borders.

History and the territory

The first traces of Gambellara date back to the Lombard era, but it is viticulture that has made it famous worldwide. The Garganega, an indigenous grape variety, has always characterized the local wine production, giving rise to prestigious white wines such as Vin Santo and Recioto di Gambellara, true ambassadors of the region.

CLIMATE AND SOIL

The hills of Gambellara, with their volcanic soils and mild climate, offer an ideal habitat for the cultivation of Garganega. Traditional pergola viticulture, combined with late harvesting, allows for the production of white wines with great complexity and finesse, characterized by a perfect balance between acidity and sapidity.

THE VINEYARDS

Garganega, the symbolic grape variety of Gambellara, is known for its versatility. Its grapes produce pleasant white wines that age elegantly. Durella, another indigenous variety of the area, stands out for its acidity and ability to produce high-quality sparkling wines. Both varieties have deep roots in the region and contribute to making the wines at the foot of the Lessini Mountains truly unique.

DOC

The Gambellara DOC, established in 1970, encompasses four municipalities in the Vicenza area and is primarily based on the Garganega grape variety. The designation offers various types of wine, from the fresh and fruity Gambellara DOC to the sweet Recioto and Vin Santo di Gambellara DOCG, made from dried grapes.
